Hello!

I’m Mike. I’m an educator, naturalist, and dad. Since I was a kid, I’ve loved the outdoors. Many of the most powerful, meaningful experiences of my life have come while in nature.

My professional life largely has revolved around connecting people with nature. I have done this as a middle school science teacher, an outdoor educator, and a college professor.

This site is intended to help everyone, regardless of age, location, or background, develop knowledge and skills to build deeper connections with nature.
